Strategy Group

The GMFS partners are supported by a Strategy Group providing overall, independent guidance. The Strategy Group advises and informs the partners on relevant intiatives and developments global and regional food security related policies, such as the Millenium Development Goals and of progress in related fields of science. It also facilitiates international and cross-disciplinary contacts between programmes and projects. The Strategy Group Convenes once a year.

There are 4 Strategy Group members representing the following insitutes:

• EC Joint Research Centre (EC JRC AGRIFISH)
• Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations - Global Information and Early Warning System (FAO-GIEWS)
• World Food Programme - Vulnerability and Assessment Mapping (WFP/VAM)
• USAID - Famine Early Warning System Network (USAID / FEWSNet)
